The ground floor frame is almost complete :).
When we saw the slab after the pour it looked so small. So much so that we took down our tape measure to check that it was the right size (which it was). Now the ground floor external and internal frames are almost complete it looks so much bigger.
Hopefully by the end of next week the first floor frame will be up also.

How exciting, our build should start in the next month or two. Were building the Waldorf too.
ReplyDeleteHow have you found the process so far?
Dee :-)
Hi Dee,
ReplyDeleteThe process so far has been going well. On the whole have been quite happy with Porter Davis.
You must be getting very excited. Are you building in Victoria Dee?
Lyndall
Hi Lyndall,
ReplyDeleteYes we are in Vic... I cant wait until it gets started. I absolutely love the Waldorf plan, did you make many changes to the floorplan?
D :-)
We did add walls and doors to the Lounge Room & Study but that is about it to the floor plan. What about you Dee?
ReplyDeleteYeah a few changes, Doors to all the ensuites and the theatre room. The wall between the lounge and dining room. We created desk niches in all of the bedrooms, a walk in L-shaped Linen at the top of the stairs, switched a few walls and windows around, extra bench space in the laundry, bulkhead right around the theatre, added the shower niches, (I love those) added the galley stack, cupboards in the galley, what feels like a million lights and powerpoints and upgraded the heating, oh and added evap cooling!! Then there's colour upgrades... Tiles, Bricks (cat 2) Underlay, kids ensuite basins, glass for the splashback, think thats about it!!
ReplyDeleteWhich promos did you sign up with? I just realised that we should have been offered Cat 2 carpets for no extra cost and we weren't, so we have just had that changed too. Nice surprise!! :-)
How did you go choosing your colours, I found tiles the hardest!!
D :)
Hi D,
ReplyDeleteWe took up the evap and floor covering promo too. SOunds like we have made very similar upgrades to what you have too. With our colours we tried to just pick neutrals. We plan to be in this house for many years to come so by picking neutrals make it easier for the house not to date too much. We will brighten things up adding assessories which are cheaper to replace when styles change.
Hi,
ReplyDeleteWe chose neutrals everwhere too, I agree with you that it's easier to change later, if it's just accessories etc. much easier to change than paint and benchtops!!
I am enjoying watching your build, we are about to start on site, so it's a little like a sneak preview for me!
Was there an evap and floor covering promo? I remember a refrigerated cooling and flooring promo, but not one with evap cooling, Our main promo was called a site start bonus (free cat 1 tiles or bolero timber look flooring and cat 2 carpets and $15K off the price!) And we also got the Prestige Luxury Inclusions from Feb 2012 (I had to check the contract to make sure that was right!!) Lots of goodies in there too.
Well keep on posting updates so I can enjoy whats ahead of me :-)
D
our promo was cat 2 carpets, tiles (can't remember what cat for tiles), evaporative cooling and some other things I can't remember. Wish we had signed up when they had the refrigerated cooling promo.
ReplyDeleteAre you going to start a blog up for your build D?
Cheers
Lyndall
Hi again,
ReplyDeleteYes I have started a blog, www.pdwaldorfjourney.blogspot.com.au
It's only new and there's not a lot on it - but now that we've had our site scrape it should all start happening!!
Dee.
